Sotheby’s auction house in New York will auction off a 1895 pastel version of “The Scream” by Edvard Munch, one of the four versions of the artwork, on Wednesday. Experts say it could sell for up to $200 million, a world record price for a piece of art.
Check out Carl’s new awesome piece! I’d hate to get punched in the face by that hand.

Brand new painting I just finished! Been working on it off and on for the past 6 months. I don’t get to post much original artwork, because it takes me so long to make it! So when I do finish something, it feels like I justed completed a marathon. This is called “Condo.” Enjoy

I hadn’t mentioned this on tumblr, but I’m going to grad school! I’m headed to Athens, Georgia this fall to study at the Lamar Dodd School of Art at The University of Georgia. I couldn’t be more excited. Honestly, I didn’t think I was gonna get in! So I’m more than thrilled to be a candidate.
I’ve been waiting for this opportunity for years. After waiting for the right time - the time is now. Hopefully the post-undergrad years have allowed me to mature and hone my skills. I’m glad I didn’t rush into it.
UGA has an amazing program and is one of the best in the southeast. I’d be one of around 100 grad students in many different areas. I’ll be studying Drawing and Painting in a brand new 40 million dollar building complete with state-of-the-art facilities. Let’s hope I can still paint a few toy paintings, but who knows what I’ll be painting! I hope at least paintings with pop culture references. Just wanted to let all y’all know… - Allan
Dumbest Thing of the Today: DamienHirst.com has a live video feed of some assistants working on his ugly stuff.

I’m a bit of a purist and seeing stuff like this is rather upsetting. I take pride in my work by stretching my own canvases, gessoing, even building the frames. On the other hand, artists like Damien Hirst have transformed art into an assembly line. What of the actual work is his you ask? Just the idea. The rest of physical production is made by his army of minion workers. And Hirst isn’t alone. There’s many others just like him. I could never do this. -Allan
